My First Steps into Astrophotography: Seeking Guidance
Hello fellow space enthusiasts and photographers!
I'm just starting out on my astrophotography journey and I'm excited to share my first attempt at capturing the moon. As you can see, it was framed beautifully between some trees, but I'm eager to learn how to make it sharper, or really, just improve in general. Any and all feedback is highly appreciated!
I'm aware of the light pollution in my current location, but my main goal for this shot was to practice with manual focus, experimenting with aperture and shutter speed. I'm planning an outing to a darker sky location later this week, and I want to make the most of that opportunity by having a better understanding of the fundamentals. I don't want to be fumbling around once I get to a prime spot!
My Gear & Settings:
- Camera: Fujifilm XT-5
- Lens: Viltrox 13mm 1.4f
- Settings: ISO 6400, f/2, 1/6s
I've received a suggestion to "make it less crowded and bring out the sky more." This is a fantastic point, and I'm keen to explore how I can achieve that in future shots. Perhaps it involves different framing or post-processing techniques.
Looking forward to your insights and helping me improve my astro-captures!
