The Lunar Eclipse Throughout the Night
Despite a persistent battle with clouds, a breathtaking lunar eclipse was captured, offering a stunning view of Earth's shadow interacting with the Moon. This composite image brings the night sky's celestial dance into clear focus.
A Triumph Over the Clouds
The journey to capture this lunar eclipse was fraught with challenges, marked by persistent cloud cover. "For me it was cloud, cloud, cloud, some more cloud, and finally, you guessed it, cloud," highlights the dedication required to seize such astronomical moments.
The Technical Craft
This remarkable image is a composite of multiple shots, meticulously acquired using a Nikon D5600 camera with a Nikkor 300mm f/4 lens. The settings for the capture included a shutter speed of 1/1.6 seconds and an ISO of 3200. The processing pipeline involved PIPP for initial stacking, Registax 6 for alignment and stacking, and finally, extensive post-processing in Photoshop to bring out the details.
Appreciating the Celestial Event
The result is an awe-inspiring view of the lunar eclipse, demonstrating the power of persistence in astrophotography. The effort put into overcoming the adverse weather conditions clearly paid off, delivering a stunning visual representation of this astronomical phenomenon.
