Hanalei Bay: My First Ever Astro Shots
Welcome to my first dive into the captivating world of astrophotography! I'm thrilled to share my inaugural attempts at capturing the night sky, taken from the breathtaking location of Hanalei Bay.
As a newcomer to this incredible hobby, I wanted to start with a place that already inspires awe, and Hanalei Bay certainly delivers. The combination of the serene bay and the vast expanse of stars above provided the perfect canvas for my first astro shots.
Here's a peek at what I managed to capture:
My Gear and Settings:
- Camera: Sony A7iii
- Lens: Viltrox 20mm
- Aperture: f/2.8
- Exposure Time: 20 seconds
- ISO: 1600
- Editing: Adobe Lightroom (LR)
Capturing these images was an incredible learning experience. Getting the focus right in the dark, managing exposure, and then bringing out the details in post-processing were all new challenges. I'm really pleased with how these turned out for my first attempt, and it has definitely sparked a passion for exploring the universe through my camera.
Stay tuned for more astro adventures as I continue to learn and grow in this field!
