The Milky Way's Grandeur Over Almería's Volcanic Coast
A truly unforgettable night of astrophotography unfolded on the rugged coastline of Almería, Spain. This image captures the vibrant glow of the Milky Way's galactic core, majestically positioned above the ancient volcanic cliffs. Almería offers one of the precious few locations along the Spanish Mediterranean coast where one can still find truly dark skies, providing an unparalleled canvas for celestial observation and photography.
This particular vantage point, nestled near the renowned Cabo de Gata region, allowed for a stunning juxtaposition of Earth's geological history with the vast expanse of the cosmos. The experience was one of the most memorable in my time capturing the night sky in Spain.
