The Highest Resolution Moon Image Captured to Date!
Prepare to be amazed by the sheer detail in this latest lunar capture! I'm thrilled to share what I believe is my highest resolution image of the Moon yet, clocking in at an incredible 107 Megapixels.
This breathtaking view is the result of a meticulously crafted mosaic, skillfully stitched together from nine individual panels. Each panel contributes to a comprehensive and detailed portrait of our celestial neighbor.
A Fleeting Opportunity
Capturing such a high-resolution image is always a challenge, and this particular session was no exception. The celestial ballet of our solar system dictates the timing, and in this case, the Moon made a swift exit. I was only able to get this single shot as the Moon began its descent and disappeared behind the tree line shortly after I had everything set up.
The Gear Behind the Shot
Bringing this level of detail to life requires specialized equipment. This image was captured using:
- Lunt Solar Systems 130MT
- Playerone 428
It's moments like these, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in astrophotography, that make the challenges worthwhile. I hope you enjoy this detailed glimpse of our Moon!
