My First Ever Perseid Meteor!
It's a truly special feeling when you capture something as fleeting and beautiful as a meteor. For one lucky astrophotographer, that moment arrived unexpectedly on August 12th, 2025.
Around 12:30 am IST, while adjusting camera settings and taking some test shots, a brilliant meteor suddenly blazed across the sky. The timing couldn't have been more perfect – it streaked directly into the path of the lens!
With bated breath, the photographer checked the image gallery. And there it was – a clear, bright trail marking the meteor's journey across the cosmos. The sheer joy of capturing this first celestial visitor on camera was an unforgettable experience. So satisfied with the shot, the decision was made to pack up the equipment and simply recline on the grass, enjoying the rest of the meteor shower with the naked eye.
The location for this cosmic encounter was a humble grassland, just two kilometers from home. This very spot was once a favored hunting ground for Kolhapur's royal King Shahu Maharaj, adding a touch of historical mystique to the astronomical event.
It's inspiring to hear about these moments, especially in places where astronomy and stargazing might not be widely known. Every captured meteor, every shared image, helps to spark curiosity and wonder about the vast universe above us.
