My First DSLR Sky Photo with a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 Lens
It's always an exciting moment when you take your first step into a new hobby, and for me, that moment arrived with my DSLR camera and a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 lens aimed at the night sky.
Here is my very first attempt at capturing the cosmos:
Acquisition Details:
- Lens: Nikon 50mm f/1.8
- Aperture: f/1.8
- Exposure: 1.5 seconds
- ISO: 2500
This shot represents the very beginning of my astrophotography adventure. While I'm thrilled with the natural colors and the sheer number of stars captured, I'm eager to learn and improve.
I received some fantastic initial feedback, including a great suggestion to try stopping down the aperture slightly, perhaps to f/2.8, to potentially reduce star trailing. This is a valuable tip for future shoots, and I'm looking forward to experimenting with different settings to see how they affect the final image.
What do you think of my first sky photo? Any tips for a beginner?
