A Stunning Glimpse of the Milky Way Core: A New Setup Test
Recently, I had the fantastic opportunity to test out my new astrophotography setup, and the results have truly exceeded my expectations! Even with a relatively short integration time of just 1 hour and 11 minutes, I was able to capture a surprising amount of detail from the heart of our Milky Way galaxy. This image prominently features the iconic Lagoon and Trifid Nebulae, showcasing their intricate structures.
For those interested in the technical side, this shot was processed using Siril and Gimp. The equipment used includes a Nikon D5500 camera, a Rokinon 135mm lens set at f/2.8, a Skywatcher Star Adventurer 2i Pro, and an ASIAir Plus.
This particular region of the sky is located within the magnificent constellation of Sagittarius. I'm thrilled with how much detail I could pull out, and for closer looks and more processed versions, be sure to check out my Instagram . Please note that image compression on social media can sometimes affect the finer details, but I've shared some crops there to give you a better perspective.
It's moments like these, pushing the boundaries of what's possible with new gear, that truly fuel my passion for capturing the wonders of the universe.
