The Moon: A Stunning Lunar Portrait Captured with Newtonian Telescope

The Journey from Capture to Creation

The raw data captured by the telescope and camera was meticulously stacked using AutoStakkert, a powerful software for planetary and lunar imaging. This stacking process combines multiple frames to reduce noise and enhance detail.
Following stacking, the image was further refined in Registax, where sharpening techniques were applied to bring out the finer features of the lunar terrain. The final steps involved importing the processed image into GIMP, a versatile image editor, where it was combined, sharpened once more, and saturated to achieve its current stunning appearance.
