Sunspots of July 2025: A Month of Solar Activity Captured

This incredible composite image brings together all the sunspots observed on our Sun throughout the month of July 2025. From the 31st solar rotation period (4129) to the 34th (4166), this collection offers a comprehensive view of solar activity during this period.

This remarkable photographic compilation is the result of a collaborative effort by dedicated observers Şenol ŞANLI and Uğur İKİZLER, utilizing data from the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO).

Sunspots are temporary phenomena on the Sun's photosphere that appear as dark spots compared to surrounding areas. They are caused by intense magnetic activity, which inhibits convection and reduces the surface temperature. Observing these features helps scientists understand the Sun's complex magnetic field and its influence on space weather.

Stay tuned for more captivating glimpses into the cosmos!
