The imaging session began at 4:01 AM on August 8, 2025. A total of 20,000 frames were captured, with only the top 3% being selected for processing to ensure the highest quality data.

  • Camera: Player One Neptun-C
  • Telescope: Omegon Telescope Pro CC 114/1368 OTA
  • Mount: Star Adventurer GTI

The Process

Bringing this image to life involved a sophisticated workflow:

  1. Capture: SharpCap was used for the initial data acquisition.
  2. Stacking & Alignment: PIPP and AutoStakkert! were employed to stack the best frames and align them precisely.
  3. Processing: IMPPG and Siril were used for further enhancement and noise reduction.
  4. Final Touches: GIMP was utilized for final adjustments and color correction, bringing out the intricate details of Saturn's atmosphere and rings.
