Recently, a breathtaking image of NGC 6888, more commonly known as the Crescent Nebula, has emerged, showcasing the dedication and skill of an astrophotographer. The Acquisition Process
The journey to capture this image involved 233 individual exposures, each lasting 30 seconds at an ISO of 3200. To further refine the data, 20 dark frames were also taken. The equipment used for this endeavor was an unmodified Canon 600D camera, skillfully paired with a Sharpstar 76mm telescope, operating at a focal length of 342mm. Mastering the Processing Pipeline

The raw data was first stacked and calibrated using Siril, a powerful open-source software renowned for its astronomical image processing capabilities. Following this, a starless version of the image was expertly created using Starnet. This technique allows for more focused attention on the intricate details of the nebula itself.
To bring the final image to life, the starless and star-filled components were recomposed and layered. Further enhancements, including denoising and color balancing, were meticulously applied in Pixlr editor.
