New Phone, From My Backyard, 2025
I recently got a new phone, a Motorola Edge 2025, and I was eager to put its night sky photography capabilities to the test. So, I decided to take it out to my backyard and see what I could capture.
After reviewing the initial shots, I went back and touched them up to enhance clarity and detail. The results were quite surprising for a smartphone!
Camera Settings Used:
- Camera: Motorola Edge 2025
- Manual Focus (MF): Infinite
- White Balance (WB): Auto
- Exposure Duration: 32 seconds
- ISO: 1600
- Exposure Compensation: 0.0
The long exposure time and a decent ISO allowed the sensor to gather enough light to reveal a significant number of stars. It's truly amazing what modern smartphone technology can achieve, even from a light-polluted backyard.
The details that emerged after post-processing were impressive, showcasing the phone's ability to handle low-light conditions effectively. It definitely makes you appreciate the vastness of the universe visible even from our own backyards.
