Capturing the Eclipse: A Full Spectrum Perspective

Sometimes, contributions arrive a little late, but the beauty captured remains timeless. I'm excited to share my late entry into documenting the recent solar eclipse, offering a glimpse beyond the visible spectrum.

The Gear and the Vision

For this capture, I utilized a versatile setup:

  • Camera: Canon 250D
  • Modification: Full Spectrum
  • Optical Tube: RC6
  • Filter: UV/IR cut filter

This combination allowed for the capture of wavelengths typically filtered out, revealing subtle details of the eclipse in a new light.

Processing the Image

The post-processing was handled with care using Affinity software. The goal was to enhance the details inherent in the full-spectrum data without over-processing, aiming for a natural yet impactful representation of the celestial event.

The Result

Here is the image from my capture:

Solar Eclipse Full Spectrum

It's always rewarding to experiment with different techniques and equipment to see what new perspectives we can gain on familiar astronomical events. I hope this full-spectrum view adds another dimension to your appreciation of the recent eclipse.
