My First Steps into Astrophotography: Capturing the Moon!
For as long as I can remember, the wonders of space, the thrill of stargazing, and the art of astrophotography have held a special place in my heart. However, the perceived cost and complexity always seemed to put it out of reach. That is, until now!
I'm absolutely thrilled to share my very first astrophotography endeavor. Just a couple of days ago, I took the plunge and acquired an 8" Celestron SSE Dobsonian telescope. This is the maiden voyage for this incredible piece of equipment, and I couldn't wait to point it towards the heavens.
And what better subject for a first attempt than our celestial neighbor, the Moon?
A Lunar Debut
This image was captured using my trusty iPhone 15 Pro Max. While I'm still learning the ins and outs of telescope operation and mobile astrophotography techniques, I'm incredibly proud of this result. It's a tangible step into a hobby I've dreamed of for years.
