My First Milky Way: Bortle 4 Skies and Future Plans
Hello fellow stargazers and astrophotography enthusiasts! I'm thrilled to share my very first attempt at capturing the majestic Milky Way. This image was taken under what I believe are Bortle 4 skies, offering a wonderfully dark canvas for celestial wonders.
My Setup:
- Camera: Sony A7iii
- Lens: Tamron 28-70mm f/2.8
- Exposure: 30 minutes total exposure (Note: I'm still working on getting the right gear for longer continuous exposures!)
First Impressions & The Journey Ahead
As this is my inaugural piece in the world of astrophotography, I'm eager for your feedback! How did I do? Any tips or advice for a beginner like myself would be greatly appreciated.
I'm already planning my next steps to improve my celestial captures. My sights are set on acquiring a William Optics Redcat 51mm f/4.9 Petzval APO Refractor Imaging Telescope and a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTI Wi-Fi tracker. I believe these pieces of equipment will significantly enhance my ability to capture sharper details and longer exposures of the night sky.
Stay tuned for more updates as I continue to learn and grow in this fascinating hobby!
