My First Attempt at Star Trails
Hello fellow space enthusiasts! I'm thrilled to share my very first attempt at capturing star trails. This is a technique I've been wanting to explore for a while, and I finally took the plunge.
The Gear and Process
For this shot, I used my trusty Google Pixel 4a. I enabled its built-in Astro mode, which is incredibly helpful for low-light situations. The magic behind creating star trails often involves capturing a series of long-exposure images and then stacking them. I used the Star Trails app to process the stacked images, bringing those beautiful arcs of light to life.
The Result
Here is the image from my first attempt:
I'm really pleased with how this turned out for a first try! Seeing the Earth's rotation translated into these gorgeous streaks across the night sky is truly captivating. It's a simple yet profound way to connect with the cosmos.
What's Next?
This is just the beginning of my astrophotography adventure. I'm already planning my next outing, experimenting with different camera settings, and looking for darker skies to push the boundaries of what I can capture. Stay tuned for more celestial adventures!
