First Light: Capturing the Cosmos in Spiti Valley
It's always a thrilling moment when you venture into a new photographic territory. For me, that territory was astrophotography, and I decided to dive in headfirst with a timelapse project in the breathtaking Spiti Valley.
The Setup and the Sky
The conditions were perfect for capturing the night sky. My setup included:
- Camera: Sony A7iii
- Lens: Tamron 28-75mm
- Tripod: K&F Concept
I managed to capture a stack of 420 individual shots, each with the following settings:
- Focal Length: 28 mm
- Aperture: f/2.8
- ISO: 4000
- Exposure: 13 seconds
This allowed for a detailed and vibrant capture of the celestial tapestry above.
The Resulting Timelapse
The final timelapse is a culmination of careful planning and execution. While some feedback mentioned the mountains appearing a bit dark, which is a common challenge with night sky photography, I'm incredibly proud of the result for a first attempt. Witnessing the movement of the stars and the Milky Way come to life is truly magical.
Seeking Your Feedback
As I continue to explore the world of astrophotography, I'm always eager to learn and improve. I'd love to hear your thoughts and any constructive criticism you might have on this piece. Your insights will be invaluable as I take my next steps in capturing the universe.
Stay tuned for more adventures in the night sky!
