Capturing the Ringed Jewel: My Best Saturn Yet!
Hello fellow sky gazers! I'm thrilled to share what I consider my personal best image of Saturn to date. It's been a journey of learning and tweaking, and I'm incredibly proud of how this shot turned out.
The Setup:
Here's the equipment that made this image possible:
- Telescope: Perl Bellatrix Newton 150/750
- Camera: ZWO ASI120MM-S
The Process:
I captured 300 frames, each with an exposure of 40ms, totaling approximately 12 seconds of data. This method, often referred to as 'lucky imaging', helps to stack the sharpest frames and reduce atmospheric distortion.
The Image:
I'm particularly happy with the detail visible in the rings and the subtle banding on Saturn's disk. This is the result of careful focusing and post-processing.
Seeking Your Wisdom!
While I'm pleased with this result, the pursuit of astrophotography perfection is continuous! I'm always eager to learn and improve. So, I'd love to hear any advice or tips you might have. What do you think could make this image even better? Are there specific processing techniques you'd recommend for planetary imaging?

Clear skies!
