M33 Triangulum Galaxy: A Captivating View from Bortle 4/5 Skies
This breathtaking image showcases the M33 Triangulum Galaxy, a spiral galaxy located in the constellation Triangulum. Its proximity and structure make it a favorite target for astrophotographers, and this capture truly does it justice.
Imaging Conditions and Gear
The conditions for this observation were excellent, with Bortle 4/5 skies allowing for a deep and detailed view of the galaxy. The imaging session took place on August 31st, 2025, starting at 00:22 AM in Germany. A total of 59 exposures, each 120 seconds long, were acquired, providing ample data for processing.
The equipment used for this remarkable capture included:
- Camera: Player One Neptun-C
- Telescope/Mount: Askar SQA55 with Star Adventurer GTI (guided)
The Imaging Pipeline
Data was captured using the Nina software, a popular choice for deep-sky astrophotography due to its comprehensive features. The subsequent processing was carried out using Siril for initial calibration, stacking, and stretching, followed by Gimp for further refinements and cosmetic enhancements to bring out the full beauty of the Triangulum Galaxy.
This image is a testament to the power of dedicated astrophotography and the collaborative spirit of the community in sharing knowledge and inspiration.
