M13 Through the Celestron 8se: A Hercules Cluster Attempt
It's always exciting to see new astrophotography efforts, and this capture of the M13 Hercules Star Cluster using a Celestron 8se and Canon EOS R100 is no exception! Our fellow stargazer is diving back into the hobby and shared their latest result, a stack of 40 10-second exposures for a total of 3 minutes and 50 seconds of integration time.
The photographer notes that while the Reddit upload might appear a bit blurred, the original files are quite sharp and pinpoint, a common issue with image compression for online platforms. This is the third attempt after a hiatus, and it highlights the rewarding, albeit sometimes challenging, journey of refining astrophotography skills.
Despite the initial presentation, the effort put into this shot with the specified equipment is commendable. Getting back into the swing of things after a break takes patience and persistence. The key elements of focus and minimizing vibrations are always crucial in capturing crisp details from celestial objects like M13.
This image serves as a great benchmark for the photographer's current setup and their progress in mastering the art of deep-sky imaging. Keep up the fantastic work and we look forward to seeing more of your celestial captures!
