  • Control: Mini PC running NINA and PHD2

Integration Time:

  • Luminance (L): 52 x 180s = 2h 36m
  • Red (R): 45 x 180s = 2h 15m
  • Green (G): 50 x 180s = 2h 30m
  • Blue (B): 45 x 180s = 2h 15m
  • Total Integration: 9h 36m

Calibration Frames:

  • 30x Flats, 30x Dark Flats, Master Dark

The Art of Processing

Initial Stack Processing (L, R, G, B):

  • Subframe Selector
  • WBPP (Weighted Batch Pre-Processing) with fast 1x drizzle integration
  • Dynamic Crop
  • Spectrophotometric Flux Calibration
  • Multiscale Gradient Correction
  • RGB Channel Combination

Star and Starless Processing:

  • RGB and L separately: BlurXterminator, StarXterminator (discarding L stars)
  • RGB Stars: SetiAstro's Star Stretch script, Curves Transformation for saturation adjustment
  • RGB and L Starless: NoiseXterminator, SetiAstro's Statistical Stretch script, LRGB Combination (applying L to RGB), GHS (Generalized Hyperbolic Stretching) for fine-tuning the stretch, Curves Transformation for contrast and saturation adjustments, HDR Multiscale Transform, another pass of NoiseXterminator.
  • Final Recombination: Pixel Math used to recombine starless image with RGB stars.
