Emerald Sky: A Photographer's Dream in Tenerife
During a recent trip to the stunning island of Tenerife, I was met with an astronomical sight I won't soon forget. On the very first night, the sky erupted in an intense, otherworldly green glow. This rare phenomenon created a breathtaking harmony with the terrestrial landscape, though it presented unique challenges in capturing the true colors of the Milky Way.
The Art of Capturing the Emerald Glow
The image you see above is a testament to careful planning and post-processing. I employed a HaRGB technique, which involves combining data from different filters to enhance specific details and colors. The mosaic, a 2x2 panel panorama for both the sky and foreground, allowed for a wider field of view. Tracking and stacking were essential to gather enough light and reduce noise, resulting in a composite image that truly captures the magic of that night.

A Memorable Night
While the vibrant green hue made capturing the subtle colors of the Milky Way a delicate balancing act, the overall result is a powerful reminder of the dynamic and often surprising beauty of our night sky. I already find myself missing the experience of standing under that emerald-kissed celestial canvas.
