Edge of the Galaxy Descending into the Desert

Technical Details of the Shoot:

Capturing such a stunning image requires meticulous planning and execution. The photographer utilized a Canon 6D Mark II paired with a Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM ART lens, a popular choice for wide-field astrophotography.

• Sky Exposure: 8 frames at 8 seconds each, with an aperture of f/1.8 and ISO 6400. This untracked setup allowed for a broad sweep of the sky.
• Foreground Exposure: 6 frames at 30 seconds each, also at f/1.8 and ISO 6400. This ensured the desert landscape was adequately illuminated.

The raw data was then expertly processed using Sequator for stacking the images, followed by advanced editing in Photoshop to bring out the incredible detail and color.
