The Vision Behind the Shot
This remarkable image was captured using a Canon R6 camera with a Sigma 14mm f2.2 lens. The photographer employed a 10-second exposure at ISO 2000, meticulously correcting the image in Lightroom. To achieve the final breathtaking result, 10 light frames and 10 dark frames were combined using Starry Landscape Stacker, a powerful tool for enhancing astrophotography.
Why Death Valley?
Death Valley National Park, known for its extreme temperatures and stark, beautiful desert scenery, also boasts incredibly dark skies. Far from major light pollution, it provides an ideal canvas for capturing the wonders of the Milky Way. The unique patterns of the salt flats add an additional layer of visual intrigue, creating a truly unforgettable composition.
