Cygnus Above the Dolomites: A Celestial Spectacle
This new shot captures the breathtaking Cygnus constellation from my recent trip to the Dolomites. It's a composition that has been admired many times, particularly with the sunstar effect often achieved using this iconic tree as a foreground element.
However, the real magic in this photograph lies in capturing the entire Milky Way arch, revealing something consistently captivating above the main subject. The lake in the foreground provided a perfect reflective surface, a true gift for the eyes. Despite the challenges of focus stacking in low light conditions, the effort was well worth it, resulting in unparalleled sharpness throughout the image.
This shot was made possible with the following equipment:
- Camera: Sony a7 IV
- Lens (Foreground): Sony 14mm f1.8 GM
- Camera (Sky): Sony a7 III Astro mod
- Lens (Sky): Sony 35mm f1.4 GM
- Mount: iOptron Skyguider Pro
A special thanks to the Astronomik 6nm Max FR filter for enhancing the Hydrogen-alpha details, contributing to the vibrant appearance of the nebula.
I'm thrilled with how this image turned out, especially the foreground composition and the reflections. It's wonderful to see the beauty of our world captured in such a spectacular way.
