Colorado Wildflowers: A Breathtaking Night Sky Meets Earthly Blooms
Every day, the feeling of immense luck washes over me for living in a place where such beauty can be stumbled upon by accident. During a somewhat poorly planned getaway to Twin Lakes, I unexpectedly discovered this absolutely stunning spot, and it seems I might be one of the last to find it.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have managed to capture this shot after battling gust after gust of wind. Despite the challenging conditions, I was able to secure just one frame with completely still flowers, perfectly complementing the vast night sky above.
The Gear Behind the Shot
- Camera: Sony a7iv (h-alpha mod)
- Lens: Viltrox 16mm f/1.8
Capturing the Cosmos and the Bloom
- Sky: A two-panel panorama was created, with each panel consisting of 8 exposures of 75 seconds each at f/2.2 and ISO 1600.
- Foreground: The foreground was captured as a four-panel panorama, with a single 1-second exposure at f/11 and ISO 800.
The result is a harmonious blend of the cosmos and the earth, a testament to the breathtaking scenery Colorado has to offer. It's moments like these that remind us of the profound beauty that exists when the stars align with the natural world.
It's truly a privilege to share such views, and I'm thrilled to have brought this scene to life through astrophotography.
