Capturing the ISS: My Photograph of a Sky-High Transit
There's something truly awe-inspiring about seeing the International Space Station (ISS) glide across the night sky. It's a tangible reminder of human ingenuity and our persistent reach for the stars. Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to capture one of these celestial passes, and I wanted to share the result with you all!
This photograph is a single exposure, showcasing the ISS as it traversed the heavens. Seeing it streak across the darkness, a beacon of human endeavor, is an unforgettable experience. It's moments like these that fuel my passion for astrophotography.
The Gear Behind the Shot
To bring this vision to life, I relied on some excellent equipment:
- Camera: Nikon Z5
- Lens: Tokina f/2.8 11-16mm
The combination of the Z5's capabilities and the wide-angle, fast aperture of the Tokina lens allowed me to capture the ISS in all its glory during this brief but spectacular passover.
I'm thrilled with how this image turned out, and I hope it inspires you to look up at the night sky and perhaps even try capturing your own glimpses of the ISS. Happy stargazing!
