Behind the Lens

The astrophotographer behind this stunning shot utilized a 130mm f5 telescope, a testament to the power of dedicated equipment for celestial observation. The imaging was done with a modified Canon t2i camera, a popular choice for amateur astrophotography due to its excellent performance.

Processing the Cosmos

Bringing this image to life involved a meticulous post-processing workflow. The raw data was stacked using Siril, a powerful open-source software renowned for its astronomical image processing capabilities. Following the stacking, Adobe Lightroom was employed for retouching, bringing out the fine details and colors of the lunar surface.

This image is a beautiful reminder of the wonders that await us when we turn our gaze towards the night sky.
