Capturing the August Full Moon: A Photographer's Perspective
This August, I had the opportunity to capture a stunning view of our celestial neighbor, the Moon. For this shot, I employed a technique known as image stacking, combining six individual captures to bring out the intricate details of the lunar surface.
Gear Used:
- Camera: Canon 90D
- Lens: Sigma 100-400mm
Image stacking is a powerful tool in astrophotography, allowing us to reduce noise and enhance clarity by averaging out imperfections across multiple exposures. The Canon 90D, with its versatile sensor, and the sharp Sigma 100-400mm lens proved to be an excellent combination for this lunar endeavor.
Here's the result of this effort:
Capturing the Moon, especially with such detailed results, is always a rewarding experience. The play of light and shadow across the craters and maria offers a unique perspective on our closest astronomical companion. I hope you enjoy this image as much as I enjoyed creating it!
