Total Lunar Eclipse from Switzerland

On September 7, 2025, at 21:05:07 UTC+2, I had the incredible opportunity to photograph a total lunar eclipse from Basel, Switzerland. This marked my third time capturing such a magnificent celestial event.

The Shot

Here is the image I managed to capture:

Total Lunar Eclipse

Technical Details

To bring you this view, I used the following equipment:

  • Camera: Sony a6300
  • Lens: Sony 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 + Sony 1.4x TC
  • Tripod: Manfrotto 190go! + Beike BK-555
  • Visor: Olympus EE-1

The specific settings for this shot were:

  • Focal Length: 1260mm (equivalent)
  • Shutter Speed: 0.8 seconds
  • Aperture: f/9.0
  • ISO: 3200

It's always a thrill to witness and photograph these cosmic spectacles. Despite some cloudy conditions elsewhere, the sky cleared just enough for this beautiful capture. I hope you enjoy it!
