AZ Milky Way: A Second Adventure's Triumph
This breathtaking shot of the Milky Way was captured last weekend near Superior, Arizona, during my second-ever astrophotography adventure. My initial plan was to focus on landscape shots, but I encountered some frustrating out-of-focus images at my primary location.
Thankfully, the trip wasn't a bust! Upon returning to my car, I managed to salvage the experience with this incredible capture. It's a testament to perseverance and the beauty that can be found even when things don't go exactly as planned.
Acquisition and Processing Details:
- Camera: Canon 6D Mark II
- Lens: Sigma Art 35mm
- Acquisition: 3 x 8-second exposures at ISO 1600, stacked using Sequator.
- Processing: A 4-panel vertical mosaic stitched in Microsoft ICE. A slight curves adjustment and cropping to phone wallpaper size were performed in GIMP.
This experience has only fueled my passion for capturing the night sky, and I'm already looking forward to the next outing!
