Antares Constellation Illuminated by a Satellite's Glow
Hello fellow stargazers and astrophotography enthusiasts! Tonight, I embarked on a little photoshoot to capture the beauty of the night sky, and I'm thrilled to share the results with you.
A Celestial Visitor
Here, I've managed to capture the majestic Antares constellation, often referred to as the "heart of the scorpion" due to its prominent placement within the Scorpius constellation. As if Antares itself wasn't enough of a star, a rather serendipitous visitor decided to photobomb my shot – a passing satellite, leaving a subtle, glowing trail across the frame.
A Humble Beginning
For this endeavor, I'm working with a relatively modest telescope. While it's not yet capable of capturing the intricate details I aspire to, I decided to try a different approach for this particular capture. Utilizing my iPhone 13 Pro Max in its raw format, I aimed to harness the device's capabilities for this celestial snapshot. Following the capture, I employed the default camera app for some basic editing to enhance definition and bring out the subtle details of the stars and the satellite's path.
My goal is to continue honing my astrophotography skills, and this weekend, I plan to venture out to a location with significantly darker skies to see what else we can discover.
Thanks for stopping by and sharing in this cosmic moment!
