An Almost Full Moon Captured from the Southern Hemisphere
Last night, we were treated to a magnificent view of the moon, just shy of its full glory, as captured from the vantage point of the Southern Hemisphere. This beautiful image brings us closer to our celestial neighbor, highlighting its intricate details.
The Journey of Capturing the Moon
This breathtaking photograph is the result of dedicated effort and precise techniques. The image was acquired using a 130mm f5 telescope, paired with a modified Canon t2i camera. This combination of equipment allowed for the detailed capture of the lunar surface.
Processing for Perfection
Bringing this image to its final stunning form involved a meticulous processing workflow. A total of 251 individual photographs were aligned, followed by a stacking process of 125 images in Siril. The quality rejection method was employed to ensure only the best data contributed to the final stack. Finally, Adobe Lightroom was used to add the finishing touches, enhancing the details and presenting the moon in all its splendor.
