A Rookie's View of M39: A Star Cluster Captured by a New Astrophotographer
Hello fellow space enthusiasts!
As someone relatively new to the captivating world of astrophotography, I'm thrilled to share my latest capture: Messier 39 (M39), a delightful star cluster gracing our northeastern skies. It's incredibly rewarding to point my lens towards the cosmos and bring these distant wonders closer.
This shot represents my early steps into this hobby, and I'm eager to hear your thoughts and constructive feedback. Every capture is a learning experience, and I'm grateful for the community's support!
Equipment Used:
- Camera: Canon EOS 600D
- Lens: Samyang 135mm F2.0
- Mount: Sky Watcher Star Adventurer Gti
- Control Software: APT (for remote control)
Processing Details:
- Acquisition: 200 subs, each 10 seconds long, at 800 ISO.
- Stacking: DeepSkyStacker was used to combine the individual frames.
- Calibration & Enhancement:
- Histogram Adjustments
- Background Extraction
- Photometric Color Calibration (all performed in Siril)
- Final Touches: Contrast adjustments were made in Adobe Lightroom.
